A night walk? In total darkness or with a full moon? And then stopping in a warm and welcoming “Rifugio” for a delicious dinner … leave it to us!
GUIDED ACTIVITIES
A wide ranging tour around one of the most characteristic Dolomites tops, Mount Pelmo (Caregòn del Signor). A four day walk with snow shoes at the foot of the imposing mountain, through woods, grazing land, and clearings at height. In the evening, a nice dinner in welcoming “Rifugio”, Alpine hut or hotel, where you will taste local specialties, cradled by the mountain hospitality and the crackling fire, and then spend the night...
Duration: 4 days (3 nights). - Difficulty: medium
Night accommodations: in “Rifugio”, Alpine hut or hotel.
Booking: no later than two weeks before the weekend of departure.
Cost: € 340 per person (5 persons minimum)
This includes: 3 half-boards in Rifugio/hotel /Alpine hut, guided activity and guide expenses.
The following are not included: optional lunch at Rifugio Staulanza, picnic lunches during the whole tour, drinks in “rifugio”, showers in Alpine hut/hotel, rent of snow shoes and headlamps (when requested), journey to and from Staulanza pass.
FIRST DAY:
2 p.m. Meeting point at the Staulanza pass Rifugio (optional lunch) between Val di Zoldo and Val Fiorentina. You can easily reach it by car on a paved road that is always passable during the winter. Departure for Rifugio Fiume. We start with a short climb before taking a long trail down bringing us under the imposing North face of the Pelmo. Then some more uphill to Forcella Forada and level ground to Rifugio Fiume. Dinner and overnight stay at the rifugio.
Altitude gap: 250 meters uphill – 150 meters downhill
Time: 2,5 hours
SECOND DAY:
After breakfast we go back for a short stretch on the trail taken the night before in order to reach Forc. Forada, then a long way downhill on the Val Boite side, first on open ground, then in the wood. From there a long uphill trail, not steep, will take us to Malga Ciauta. Dinner and overnight stay at the alpine hut.
Altitude gap: 400 meters uphill – 750 meters downhill.
Time: 5/6 hours
THIRD DAY:
Uphill to Rif. Venezia, through the wonderful clearings of Rutorto. From there we go along the sunny South face to reach Coi, delightful outlying village perched high up in Val di Zoldo and then to the hotel La Caminatha.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Altitude gap: 400 meters uphill – 450 meters downhill
Time: 5/6 hours.
FOURTH DAY:
Uphill lap, through woods and open ground, leading back to our starting point. We go past the slopes of Mount Pelmetto to reach the Staulanza pass.
Lunch (optional) and then we return home.
Altitude gap: 400 meters uphill – 150 meters downhill
Time: 4 hours
